Penny Drive



Congratulations to the youth at WABC. Their Penny Drive raised over $600 for the churches building fund. Special congratulations goes out to Evan Jayla James and Cecelia Lujan Espinosa who won the penny drive. Honorable mention goes out to Malachi Randall(our winner from last year). Thank you to all of the youth who participated.

Get Ready WABC Youth !!!!!


Several events are in the works for the Youth of WABC. Coming January 2010 WABC will begin "WABC KidZone" (a modern day children's church service) which will be held during our Sunday morning Worship Experience. If you are an adult who would be interested in helping out please speak with Cyndi Jennings, Thomasine Flores or Calonia Fults. During November and December our Youth will be back in Action as we prepare to minister to those outside the walls of the church. This will include outreaches to our local schools, senior citizen centers and our surrounding community. So stay posted!!!!!!!

WABC Youth on The Move

For the 2nd year in a row the WABC youth will be traveling to the Holy Ghost Wiener Roast sponsored by New Life Providence Church. A great evening of family fun! There will be food for everyone including Hotdogs, Brunswick Stew, Chips and drinks and TONS of candy, of course!! Plus, hayrides, pony rides, games with prizes for younger kids, rock wall, skate park (*BYO skateboard & helmet!), square dancing, moonwalk, ol’ timey photos, and more! WABC will be sponsoring our youth, but each adult that would like to attend will need to purchase a wristband for $5.00. Please sign up in advance after Sunday services as we will need a head count in advance so that we may purchase wristbands. Deadline for registering for this event is Sunday October 18th. Family Movie Night



Kids, have your family join us on Friday August 28th at 7 PM for our first Family Movie Night. There is no cost for this event (which will include snacks and drinks for all), but we are asking that everyone who attends consider bringing a backpack or school supplies for our back to school campaign. All proceeds from this event will go to help Bowling Park Elementary school which is a local educational institute in our area. Back To School Campaign

Youth Day 2009


The WABC Youth Ministry will celebrate with a special "Youth Day" to be held on June 14th at our 11:30 AM service. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Melvin Cotton associate minister of Grove Baptist Church, Portsmouth VA. Dress attire is casual and there will be a picnic immediately following the morning service. Our youth are in a war and we don't plan for the enemy to win! Join us in the battle cry! Don't forget to tell your family and friends to join us that morning for a lifesaving experience. VBS "Studio GO" begins in just a few weeks (June 22nd through June 26)! If you have not already signed up to attend please do so now. You will not want to miss this fun filled week of activities (open to all ages, including classes geared to teen and adults). Judgement House


The Youth Ministry will be hosting a trip to see Judgement House on May 1st at 6:20 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, in Chesapeake VA. If you are interested in going please see Cyndi Jennings for more info. Due to intense scenes and loud noise, Judgement House is not recommended for children 10 and under. We have reserved space for 20 people so please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in attending.

Easter Eggstravaganza


Our "Easter Eggstravaganza" will be held on April 13th at 12 Noon. Invite your friends and family to join us for food and fun at WABC. The best part is that all of the activities, games and food are ....FREE!!!

WABC Youth Are On The Move

Thanks to everyone who attended the "Move It To Music" Expo with the youth at the Ted Constant Center this past Saturday.

Its Game Time! Please check with our area Sports Coordinator Richard Parker of you are interested in joining the Men's Ministry on March 28th for the Wizard's and Piston's Game.

Upcoming Events

There will be a Easter Eggstravaganza on Easter Monday, April 13th at 12 Noon at WABC. Volunteers are needed to assist with this event. Eggs and Candy donations can be dropped off at WABC during Sunday Service and Wednesday Nights.

The WABC Youth will be on the move again on April the 17th for the Youth Extravaganza being held at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, in Chesapeake VA at 7 PM.

Young ladies between the age of 12 and 28 are invited to attend a special "Girl's Night Out" event geared directly to them on May 22nd. In addition there will be a "Healing Heart's" Workshop intitled "Heart Spa" that will be held on May 23rd starting at 8:30 AM in conjunction with our Women's Day activities which will be held on May 24th at 11:30 AM. Additional info on this event is forthcoming.

Congratulations Malachai

In a landslide victory (over $158 in penny's), Malachai brought in the most penny's for our Youth Building funds "Penny Drive" which was held during the month of January and February. The prize was a new Canon printer. Congratulations to Malachai and his family for the great work. Thanks goes out to all of the youth who participated in this fundraiser.

Upcoming Events

WABC Youth Ministry has began planning for our "Friday Night" Youth Events. In the coming months we will began offering opportunities for our youth to engage in fun filled activities, and some service projects. Friday February 27th we will host our first "Friday Night" at 6:30 PM right here at WABC. Please see Erica Morrison for more details. Get ready for a night of food, fellowship and a great movie.
